Shiatsu

An Ancient Wisdom To Combat Modern Stress

Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork/massage therapy which has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It's  a blend of ancient massage, manual acupressure, and modern Western techniques of joint mobilisation.

Taking place on a futon or mat on the floor, a variety of these mentioned techniques are used to ease areas of tension.

According to the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine, our energy or “ki” circulates throughout invisible pathways known as meridians. When imbalances occur in the flow of this energy - which often happens through illness, injury, stress, trauma, fatigue or poor lifestyle - our health and well-being may suffer. Shiatsu can help re-balance this energy. It can also be effective in maintaining overall health and well-being as it is thought to stimulate the body’s own healing natural healing system.
